Retirement of Richard (Dick) Wagstaffe MBE__________________________________________
On 30th March 2011, Dick Wagstaffe MBE retired as Head Ranger at Afan Argoed Forest Park in the Afan Valley.
This brought an end to 37 years working there, and over 30 years of assistance to Number 3 Welsh Wing with activities in the park.
Dick has given innumerable hours of help to cadets and staff within the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme (Expeditions and Volunteering Elements) and also with the Adventure Training generally.
One of the latter has been the success of the Afan Argoed Challenge and to which Mr. Wagstaffe gave enormous assistance to.
His retirement party on the 30th March was attended by over 100 people he had worked with.  The photographs include Sqn Ldr Roy Behenna (Ret'd), and the Area Wing Welfare Committee Chairman Sqn Ldr John Williams (Ret'd), presenting gifts on behalf of both cadets and staff to Dick in appreciation of all his commitment to the Air Cadet Organisation
