Former Instructor Cadet Warrant Officer Gethin Davies, formerly of 499 (Port Talbot) Sqn of the RAF Air Cadets, was commissioned as a Lieutenant on passing out of the Royal Military College at Sandhurst on 12 April 13.  Gethin was awarded the highest honour possible on graduating at Sandhurst, the coveted Commandant's Sword of Honour.

This is a remarkable achievement as whist he was a cadet with 499 (Port Talbot) squadron Gethin was awarded the prestigious Dacre Sword in 2009.  The Dacre Sword is presented annually to the best male cadet in the Air Training Corps.  To be the holder of two swords of honour is a remarkable achievement for anyone.
