City and County of Swansea Councillor Richard Lewis,
during his Lord Mayor’s year of office (2011/12),
donated part of his Charity Appeal to the No3 Welsh
Wing, Air training Corps.
They in turn decided to use this large donation towards the
purchase of a utility vehicle which could be used both
to transfer cadets to activities, as a safety vehicle on
Adventure Training and the Duke of Edinburgh’s
Award, and as a towing vehicle for their Recruitment and
two canoeing trailers. The photo shows
Councillor Lewis handing over the keys to the Officer
Commanding the Wing, Wing Commander Michael Stones and
three representative cadets from 1998 (West Cross)
Squadron Sergeant Oliver Roberts, Cadets Harrison Rees
and Aaron Still.
