Sgt Kevin Gould ATC accompanied three cadets from 2117(Kenfig
Hill) Squadron ATC together with
cadets and staff from No.3 Welsh Wing to RAF
Fairford in Gloucestershire, to assist along with cadets
from all over the country in setting up the Royal
International Air Tattoo.
The Air Tattoo has become the world’s largest
military air show.
They arrived on the Thursday and started work in
preparation for the main show over the coming weekend.
It was hard work and long days but gave the cadets a
unique opportunity to get close to the action and to
meet not only cadets from around the country but also to
meet pilots and aircrew from around the world, a surely
Cadets who attended from Kenfig Hill were, Cdt Sgt
Aston, Cdt Cpl Norris and Cdt Davies. The cadets were
selected whilst there for different duties. Cdt Cpl
Norris was selected for a working party that placed him
in a fantastic position to meet many of the air crew and
to get up close to the aircraft. He spent some time with
the Black Eagles Korean display team and thoroughly
enjoyed the experience.
Staff and cadets are looking forward to the next
opportunity to be part of RIAT 2013.
