948 (Haverfordwest & City of St.Davids) Squadron Haven Hurst Concert

Haven Hurst Concert____________________________________________________________________

The residents of Havenhurst Home in Milford Haven enjoyed a gala concert from the band of 948 Haverfordwest and St David’s Squadron Air Training Corps to help get their Diamond Jubilee celebrations off to resounding start last Sunday afternoon. This was part of a busy schedule for the band that played at a total of three venues during the course of Sunday and Monday.

The band played a medley of songs to entertain the audience including spirited performances of Men of Harlech, the Rising of the Lark, It’s a Long Way to Tipperary, and Sospan Fach. The playing seemed to go down very well with much swinging and dancing to the beat of the music and a good time was seen to be had by all.

Commanding Officer Flight Lieutenant Andrew Clark commented “We were all very pleased to be invited to play at Havenhurst during their Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It allows the cadets in the band to showcase their musical skills while performing a valuable service in the community. Many thanks to the residents and staff at Havenhurst for inviting us to perform there on such a prestigious occasion.”

Anyone wishing to join the Squadron as a cadet or as an adult volunteer should contact Flight Lieutenant Clark on 01437 767030.
