Weather Holds Out For 2117 (Kenfig Hill) Squadron

Fun Day_______________________________________________________________________________

After the terrible weather we have experienced during half term three cadets from Kenfig Hill ATC were grateful that the weather improved last weekend. Along with Flying Officer Hannah Lawson and Civilian Instructor Chris Lewis they enjoyed a day at Afan Argoed. It wasn’t just a stroll in the park; they were there gaining skills for their Duke of Edinburgh Award which they all hope to complete this year.

They learnt many new skills such as map bearings, pacings and using terrain to help determine their location. They all got home safely and in one piece so they must have done something right.

Flying Officer Lawson has recently completed her DofE Assessor 'Supported Assessment', so the cadets were in capable hands.  Chris Lewis enjoyed the day; he especially mentioned that he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with the cadets, makes it all worthwhile.

The adult staff with the ATC; are all volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a staff member or could see yourself being on the Civilian Committee then please call in, we are at the rear of Pwll-y-Garth Street; you can’t miss us there is a Hawker Hunter parked in front of our building.  We parade on Tuesdays and Fridays from 7pm to 9.30pm. For more information please contact the Squadron on parade nights, Tel No 01656 670125.
