A special service was held last week to mark 75 years of RAF- MOD St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan. The station opened as RAF St Athan in 1938 as a maintenance base and was renamed MOD St Athan in 2006.

The staff and cadets of 2117 (Kenfig Hill) Squadron RAF Air Cadets No.3 Welsh Wing ATC along with staff and cadets from No.1 Welsh Wing ATC joined with others to take part in the parade representing past, present and future. ISCWO Nathan Cooper from Kenfig Hill Squadron was selected to be a standard bearer.

There was also a fly past and a drop by the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team.

Staff and cadets from Kenfig Hill Squadron had a wonderful and memorable day taking part in what was a milestone in the history of the Royal Air Force at St. Athan.
