RAF Air Cadets Remember Those Who Fought And Lost Their Lives In The Battle of Britain

Staff and cadets of 499 (Port Talbot) Squadron and 2117 (Kenfig Hill) Squadron RAF Air Cadets under the direction of Flt Lt Andy Dennis RAFVR (T) Officer Commanding 499 (Port Talbot) Squadron attended a memorial service at St Pauls Church, Aberavon to commemorate those who fought in the Battle of Britain.

The service was conducted by Father Mathew Trick of St Pauls Church, Aberavon in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of West Glamorgan Mr D Byron Lewis, The High Sherriff Mr William Hopkin, Mayor and Mayoress of Neath Port Talbot Councillor and Mrs Peters, AM for Aberavon Mr David Rees, Wing Commander Mike Stones RAFVR (T) Officer Commanding No.3 Welsh Wing RAF Air Cadets, local councillors, Police Inspector Karl Eenmaa and members of the congregation. 

Last post was sounded by Mr Morgan James prior to a wreath being laid in honour of the fallen by former WW2 Aircrew Mr Phil James MBE.

The service was concluded with refreshments in St Pauls Church Hall.
